Bishop Khamala : Don’t lecture us for supporting Mudavadi’s presidential ambitions

Lurambi MP Bishop Titus Khamala has blasted those leaders from the region being used to scuttle Musalia Mudavadi’s presidential ambitions by planning to oust him from ANC party.

Bishop Khamala said Mudavadi was a brand on his own and that even if he is removed from ANC, he will still remain politically relevant since he will have moved out of the party with the entire party structure.

He said that no one will force them (lawmakers) political dwarfs who have no interest of the electorate at heart, the reason they have been ‘bought’ to scuttle Mudavadi’s presidential ambitions.

“We are not worried about the shenanigans and arithmetic about the ouster of Mudavadi, our worry is our player and can put on another uniform and continue playing and score many goals,” said Khamala.

Khamala in an exclusive interview with the County Splash on June 28, he said that the only political party Mulembe Nation can go into is that of Musalia Mudavadi, saying parties are built around individuals and not mere political theatrics.

Recently, nominated MP Godfrey Osotsi who is the former ANC Secretary General announced that the tenure of Mr. Mudavadi and other officials elapsed on June 15, this year and called for fresh elections.

Osotsi who has since been ousted from the party’s membership said the party belongs to him.

“You cannot separate Raila and ODM same to Jubilee with President Uhuru Kenyatta. If you remove Mudavadi from ANC, the party will automatically die a natural death the way UDF became irrelevant after he (Mudavadi) formed ANC,” said Bishop Khamala.

He added: “They are telling us that this bus is too old, it’s too small and won’t get anywhere, but the person telling you doesn’t even have a bicycle of his own. We know who their masters are and they are in for a rude shock when Mudavadi will become the fifth President of Kenya,”

According to Khamala, some political leaders in the country were worried that the region was behind Mudavadi and Moses Wetang’ula, saying they drafted the strategy of ousting the two leaders so that they can weaken their parties for their own selfish gains.

“What is happening is succession politics and our leaders must be respected. We have to make a solid position with Musalia as it’s only through him that we shall form the next government,” said Khamala.

Devolution Cabinet Secretary Eugene Wamalwa and Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya are moving around the region claiming to be uniting the region so as to benefit from goodies from the jubilee government, a move that has not been received well by the majority of the electorate.

“As an MP from the Luhya nation, I cannot follow someone who is not supporting Mudavadi. We will not be forced to join other parties whose leaders are full of impunity,” said Khamala.
