Calistus Wamboye, a Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education[KCSE] candidate at Ebubere Secondary School in Mumias East Constituency, Kakamega County dies mysteriously moments before exams.
The promising candidate’s life was cut short on 5th November on Tuesday as he was preparing to take exams.
His parents Dorcas and Patrick Oteu sorrowfully narrated that their son left home together with his sibling healthy and well prepared for exams before meeting the unexpected end in their classroom.
“I received a phone call around 8 AM that my son had passed while in school. I have two sons sitting for the ongoing KCSE exams. They all left home for school in good health. I’m shocked by the news,” said Patrick adding, “they all sit in the same exam room and their index number follows so closely. I’ve not ascertain the cause of my son’s death up to this moment,” he said.
Calistus death still remains a puzzle to the family has he had not registered any sign of illness in the recent past.
“Information reaches us that my son just collapsed and died on the spot as he waits for exams. Everybody is shocked including his brother whom they were within the candidature class. He has been in perfect health and this make his death mysterious. I have rushed to the morgue and confirmed that indeed he is no more,” said Patrick
The death left a rude shock to the entire Ebubere School fraternity has Calistus life was promising until he collapsed and died.
The body was rushed to St. Mary’s Mission Hospital awaiting for postmortem examinations to ascertain the cause of the death. As the health officers promise to provide accurate results on the cause of death.
The family has called for government and well-wishers support during this tough moments.
“I have educated my son only to die this early. Indeed death is unforeseeable, I pray that the good Lord will give us strength in me and my family, more especially his other brother who is also sitting for the same exams. Your support during this tough times mean much to us,” he said.
Parents have been urged to take care of their children during the ongoing KCSE exams during to the rising cases of casualties.
