The Republic of Tanzania has launched its national Development Vision 2050 that displays a plan to build a strong all-inclusive and self-dependent nation with stakeholders aiming to raise at least sh1 trillion US Dollar economy.
The launch, which has been termed as overly successful brought together residents, leaders, the private sector, politicians and religious leaders.
However, development partners have endorsed the document and committed to supporting the country in its implementation with president Samia Suluhu saying the blueprint is aimed at building the country’s economy to be among the leading in Africa.

Speaking during the launch in Dodoma, Tanzania, president Suluhu noted preparation of the ddocument captured the views of all the stakeholders including the youth, women, civil society , people living with disabilities, the religious leaders and the local community
“Major infrastructure projects such as the standard Gauge RailwayRailway and the Julius Nyerere Hydropower plant will guide us as transfotmative foundation of the new vision, ” Said president Samia.
She added, ” Some of the challenges we face include child stunting, multidimensional poverty, and child labour. There is alot of work to do for us to achieve the vision. ”
While addressing the congregation, The United Nations Resident Coordinator Susan Namondo commended the inclusive process saying it demonstrates strong leadership by the government.

“We commend the government for the leadership and wide consultation that shaped this vision that will help this country achieve several milestones such as lower-mediumlower-middle- income status, macroeconomic stability and reduced child and maternal mortality, increased school enrollment, improved birth registration and sustainable food supply. ”
