Uasin Gishu gets new Deputy Governor as Evans Kapkea is sworn in

Former Tembeleo MCA Evans Kapkea has been sworn as the new Deputy Govenor for Uasin Gishu County.

Kapkea’s appointment followed the resignation of his predecessor, John Barorot, who stepped down to pursue new opportunities abroad.

The ceremony, held at the county headquarters, drew a large crowd of supporters, community leaders, and well-wishers, reflecting the widespread excitement and optimism surrounding the county’s new leadership.

The swearing-in ceremony marked a moment of transition for the county, and Governor Jonathan Bii expressed his confidence in Kapkea’s leadership abilities.

Governor Bii welcomed the former MCA’s appointment, emphasizing that Kapkea’s energy, youth, and commitment to public service would greatly benefit the people of Uasin Gishu.

“Leadership is about teamwork, and I am thrilled to have a capable and dynamic partner in Evans Kapkea. His experience as an MCA and his deep connection with the people will be instrumental as we work together to implement our plans for development and service delivery,” said Governor Bii

In his inaugural speech, Kapkea spoke passionately about his vision for the county. He vowed to work closely with Governor Bii to address the region’s most pressing needs, including the improvement of infrastructure, healthcare, education, and economic development.

The new Deputy Governor also emphasized the importance of youth empowerment and innovation, expressing a deep commitment to uplifting the county’s vibrant, young population.
