Waluke on the spot for assaulting ward reps in his constituency

By Timothy Wekesa, Bungoma

Members of Bungoma County Assembly ( MCAs) drawn from the three wards of Sirisia constituency have lashed at out area legislator John Waluke after over what they have termed as bullying them in public events.

Speaking to journalists at assembly chambers, the MCAs have condemned Mr Waluke for failing to maintain his dignity as an elected legislator.

Their statement comes just days after Waluke assaulted Lwandanyi ward MCA Tony Khaoya Barasa at a funeral in the ward last weekend.

Barasa says his trouble arose after he corrected Waluke that MCAs do not walk with cash from the county government and dish it out to the electorate, something the MP is known for, instead of initiating impactful development projects.

Waluke is said to have told the locals at the funeral that the MCA, his Namwela counterpart Charles Nangulu and Everlyn Mutyembu of Malakisi Kulisiru ward that they nothing to show in terms of development despite having Sh24 million from the county government accounts.

The MCAs have slammed Waluke and asked him to apologise, adding that they have already initiated the process of suing him.

Barasa says Waluke assaulted him by clobbering him with blows.
