A pastor domiciled in Kocholya, Malaba South Ward, Teso North, Busia County, died on in his house after developing breathing difficulties.
Until his untimely death, Pastor Sudi was in charge of the International Fellowship Church (IFC) in Kocholya
The deceased widow, Grace Kadogo, said that they completed prayers at 1am when he went to sleep. ” At 3am, he started breathing with difficulties and sweating.”
” I immediately called the neighbour in a bid to rush him to Kocholya sub county hospital where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival. His body is lying at Frapa mourtuary.
Grace said her husband’s ailment started in July 2023 while tilling his land. He started feeling dizzy and losing memory, dropping a cup of tea and his phone any time he held them.
” In an unusual scenario, my husband used to sleep during daytime. At one time, he fell on the way as he was diving his motorcycle, and doctors said it could be because of cold, ” she recalled.
Grace said in May 2024, her husband drove to see the doctor, but tests carried out showed he had swollen face and legs. Further tests revealed that the valve that pumps blood had some malfunction.
” Doctors prescribed him one month drugs as a temporary measure with the family asked to raise Ksh1.5million for surgery as a permanent solution, but we could not manage to raise the required amount,” she said.
In his condolence message, the chairman Teso Pastors Fellowshop, Dennis Etyang, said the loss of Pastor Jacob Sudi is undoubtedly a profound sorrow for the Teso community and the clergy he influenced.
” His efforts to unite the pastors in Kocholya and his contributions to the Teso Pastors Fellowship Network speak volumes about his dedication and commitment to faith and community. Such leaders not only guide spiritually but also build connections that strengthen the community as a whole,” he said.
Pastor Dennis added:” As you all mourn, it’s important to remember the positive impact he made in the lives of many. His legacy will live on through the relationships he nurtured and the values he upheld. May you find comfort in each other and in the memories of his service. Rest in peace, Pastor Jacob Sudi. Your legacy will continue to inspire those you touched.”
