Kenyan Nurses urged to pursue overseas opportunities for better pay and welfare

By Tony Wafula

Kenyan nurses have been encouraged to explore overseas job opportunities to secure better pay and improve their overall welfare.

Speaking at Kibabii University in Bungoma, Justice Justus, a representative from KenyanNurse Consultants LTD, emphasized the organization’s collaboration with the Faculty of Nursing at Kibabii University and other Institutions to reach out to nursing students and practicing nurses.

“We are here in Western region today to engage with nursing students and practicing nurses on how they can become registered nurses in the United States in as little as six months,” Justus explained.

KenyanNurse Consultants LTD, established in 2018, has already helped over 18,000 nurses find employment globally.

Justus highlighted that the organization was founded by Paul Simiyu, a Kenyan medic based in the UK, with the goal of assisting nurses in achieving their career dreams.

“The primary mission of our organization is to open up opportunities for nurses, ensuring they can thrive in their careers,” Justus affirmed.

He further noted that the global demand for nursing professionals is one of the key reasons for focusing on this sector.

“Nursing is a global profession and the license nurses acquire allows them to work in any country, opening doors to numerous opportunities,” he added.

Justus also mentioned that in the future, the organization plans to expand its support to other healthcare professionals.

He acknowledged that, in Kenya, the welfare of nurses is often not adequately addressed. However, he assured that nurses who register with Kenyan Nurse Consultants LTD are guaranteed overseas job placements.

Valary Simati, a nurse, expressed her gratitude to the Kenyan Nurse Consultants LTD for choosing Kibabii University as the venue for this partnership.

She shared that after engaging with the organization, many nurses in Bungoma would be motivated to register with them.

“This is my first time attending this training, and it’s a great privilege. I’ve always dreamed of this opportunity,” Simati said. She urged fellow nurses to register for the training sessions and to prepare for the NCLEX exams, which are a key step toward securing jobs abroad.
