The Dick Maungu Super Cup kicked off with intense matches in both the Maseno Polytechnic and Ekwanda grounds, setting the stage for more exciting action in the tournament. Teams from across the constituency battled for supremacy in this much-anticipated local football competition.
At Maseno Polytechnic, Musunga edged out Kafa in a tightly contested match, with a lone goal securing them the victory. Musunga’s solid defensive play and clinical finishing ensured they walked away with the three points.
Kamanga claimed a narrow but vital win against Luanda Eagles, with the only goal of the match coming in the second half. Despite a spirited performance from the Eagles, Kamanga’s defense held strong to seal the win.
In another closely contested affair, 11 Jaws took advantage of a well-executed counterattack to defeat Vision 1-0. Despite Vision’s best efforts, they couldn’t find the back of the net, handing 11 Jaws a deserved victory.
At Ekwanda grounds, Spurs emerged victorious in their matchup against Bi-Mos with a 2-0 win. The Spurs offense was too much for Bi-Mos, with both goals coming from well-coordinated team plays. A thrilling penalty shootout followed a 1-1 draw between Maseno United and Kayila. After both teams failed to score in the extra time, Kayila triumphed 4-3 in penalties, sending them through to the next round.
