Eugene Wamalwa: Ruto will be a walkover to me in 2027 presidential race; he will be a one term President

By Fidel Mbaraka, Kakamega

Democratic Action Party of Kenya (DAP-K) patron Eugene Wamalwa has dared President William Ruto to prepare his concession speech for 2027 as he is determined to take him to political oblivion.

Wamalwa said that he is the better placed to defeat Ruto given that his government was formed on quick sand.

“As Mulembe Nation, we are not aware of the 2027 or 2032 agreement. No one will plan for us but we will plan for ourselves. If they (Mudavadi and Wetang’ula fear Ruto, let them get out of the way since I don’t fear him and. I am ripe and ready for presidency,” said Wamalwa

“Today I am giving notice of intent that in 2027, I will challenge Ruto for presidency and I will surely take him home in the first round,” said Wamalwa

Wamalwa was speaking during the homecoming of Joel Okwako where he said that already the Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi and National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula have sold their soul to Ruto after they openly said they will support him for a second stab at the presidency.

He added: “If Ruto will be on the presidential ballot in 2027 that also does not prevent us from planning for the next elections. For Ruto to become President in 2022, he started planning himself in 2018.  As Mulembe people, we must plan ourselves as Mudavadi and Wetang’ula have said that they won’t vie against Ruto in 2027 even in 2032 against Rigathi Gachagua,”

He said that the presidency was not a preserve of two communities and that time had come for other communities to take the mantle of leadership in the country.

Wamalwa said Mulembe people have been the second in command thrice and that they no longer need to play a second fiddle to other communities but rule the country as from 2027.

He also cautioned Ruto against taking credit over the projects that were started by President Emeritus Uhuru Kenyatta like the Kakamega Airstrip, saying when commissioning such projects; they must involve all leaders from the region.

“I want to tell our colleagues that when we talk of unity, we must put development first and not our political affiliations. When I was in government, I used to call everyone to statehouse I don’t know why me and Wycliffe Oparanya were not called to Kakamega state lodge during Ruto’s visit,” said Wamalwa

He added: “Those projects they commissioned it’s me and Oparanya who did the ground breaking for Kakamega and Kitale airstrips. We brought charters for Alupe and Kaimosi universities. We should not bring boundaries in development matters. We should work for all Kenyans,”
