Kakamega nurse: Why I killed my two children, tried killing myself

According to her neighbors, the nurse has been a chaotic woman since separating with her husband

A nurse who allegedly killed her two children and tried ending her life is said to had separated with her estranged husband over unending domestic feuds.

The nurse who is fighting for her life at Kakamega County Teaching and Referral hospital at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) is said to have served her two children with food laced with poison leading to their death.

 

“I knew they had separated and by the husband coming that time was suspect. I followed them just to make sure everything was okay but on reaching into the house, I saw the two kids lying in the bed dead,” said the security guard

The children were aged 9 and 7 years.

 After the incident, she called her estranged and broke the news that she had killed the two innocent kids. “Come and collect the bodies of your children from the bedroom”

A security guard who sought anonymity told the County Splash that the suspect on the fateful night approached her at the gate at 3am, urging him to open the gate for the ‘husband.

“I knew they had separated and by the husband coming that time was suspect. I followed them just to make sure everything was okay but on reaching into the house, I saw the two kids lying in the bed dead,” said the security guard.

The guard said the husband collapsed when he saw the lifeless bodies of his two children.

The woman tried to end her life by stabbing herself with a knife on the neck but was rescued on time.

According to her neighbors, the nurse has been a chaotic woman since separating with her husband.

They claimed that at one point, she smashed her husband’s car at the parking lot destroying the windscreen following a domestic feud.

Kakamega Central Sub County Police Commander, Valerian Obore, said the police had launched investigations into the matter and the suspect will be arraigned in court after recuperating.
