A man was beaten senseless by his in-laws for preparing and serving them cat’s meat for lunch.
The shocking incident occurred at Ekwanda village in Luanda constituency over the weekend where the economy has literally gone to the cats.

The in-laws had gone to visit Job Mukhongo and help reconcile him with his estranged wife Andeso who had left a month ago after a domestic quarrel.

Mukhongo’s child appeared while they were feasting on the ‘delicacy’ brandishing two heads of slaughtered cats.
“Daddy said he was preparing the special meal for my uncles and unties," the little boy told the visitors.
He then said how his father had slaughtered the cats and prepared the meal they were eating for them.

The in-laws, who found the meal delicious, were at loss on what to do.
“Lunch was served much earlier than expected. It was well-cooked meat accompanied with Sukuma wiki and Ugali. The wafting aroma was enough to whet your appetite and given that we had walked a long distance, the meal came just in handy,” said one of visitors.
“We heard him screaming ‘Nisaidieni majirani, hawa watu wataniuwa’ (Come help me, my in-laws will kill me). When we came we gathered that the in-laws were just but instilling sanity in him for feeding them cat meat,” he said.
John Otieno, an eyewitness told the County Splash that the in-laws later called their host inquiring on why he had served them the abominable meal before clobbering him when he failed to give a satisfactory answer.
“We heard him screaming ‘Nisaidieni majirani, hawa watu wataniuwa’ (Come help me, my in-laws will kill me). When we came we gathered that the in-laws were just but instilling sanity in him for feeding them cat meat,” he said.
Mukhongo’s first born son pleaded with the visitors to pardon his father saying he had no money to buy cow meat and opted to take the short cut since it would be shameful for the visitors to walk away on empty stomachs.
He claimed that Andeso took away his ATM card and Sh5, 000 he had saved when she ran to her parents a matter that rendered him poor.
According to Otieno, the in-laws cooled down after Mukhongo confessed of killing his only cats since he did not have money to buy and serve a delicious meal to his in-laws.

Monica Nyaleso, one of the in-laws said they have unanimously agreed that the man will never see his wife until he pays for his rude act.
Some of Mukhongo’s ‘s neighbours however believe that he wanted to punish the in-laws because his wife had the habit of running to her people every often with no good reason.
