Why Edward Luvusi is the best bet to succeed Gimose as Hamisi MP from 2022

It requires a great society to identify a good leader, but to Mr. Edward Luvusi, politics is equally an art of influence, trying to prove ones worth which is defined by campaigns across ones geographical area.

 Mr. Luvusi who is the current Human Resources Manager at the Lake Victoria North Water Services Agency (LVNWSA), is one of the candidates eying the Hamisi constituency parliamentary seat in 2022. 

The seat is currently being held by Charles Gimose who is an ardent supporter of Deputy President William Ruto.

Luvusi, 53, is a life member of the Musalia Mudavadi led Amani National Congress (ANC) party.

Early Life

Luvusi went to Kaptik primary school and later joined Kaimosi Boys High School for his secondary education before joining Emusire High School for his A-level education.

He later joined the University of Nairobi (UoN) for a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Administration and later enrolled for a Higher Diploma in Human Resource Management from the Railway Training Institute.

He is also a member of International Human Resource Management (IHRM).

He started his career as a Labour Officer in Mombasa in 1992 and then was transferred to Baringo district and later to Busia and finally Nairobi where he worked until his resignation in 2022 and joined the private sector.

Mr. Luvusi then joined the hotel industry as a Human Resources manager at Tiwi Beach and later Diani Rift Resort.

In 2009 he came back to the government as a Human Resource Manager at Kenya Marine and Research Institute where he served until 2012 when he joined Lake Victoria North Water Services Board Agency as a Human Resources Manager to date.

Luvusi now wants to try his luck in politics by vying for the Hamisi Parliamentary seat in 2022 on the ANC party ticket.

" I grew up in abject poverty, My brother struggled to pay my school fees and I would often be send home for school fees at a time when my school mates were studying. Infact I put on  my first pair of shoes during my A- level" said Mr Luvusi.

He says he wants to join politics so that he can serve the electorate and no amass wealth for himself.

 He however says that when elected he is focused to a proper utilization of the CDF kitty, poverty eradication in the constituency and improving the education and health sectors which he says are wanting.

Luvusi  says that there’s need for local contracting to benefit local contractors.

According to Mr Luvusi, corruption is still a big problem in Hamisi constituency and there is need for the authorities and the members of parliament to join hands in subverting corruption.

The Human Resources Manager avers that he is also focused in sponsoring poor but needy students realize their academic dreams in life.

Luvusi calls upon all political parties to embrace the conduct of his party ANC which he says exercises positive politicking.

He says his decision to join the Amani National Congress (ANC) was ignited by the fact that it’s party leader Mudavadi has been his political god father and has the moral authority to exercise positive politicking.

Mr Luvusi has opened the party (ANC) office in Hamisi and laid structures which were not there before in readiness for the general elections.

He has also sponsored youth elections from mainstream to ward levels and is organizing  to organize a women league in august this year’

The devoted husband of one and father of 3 sons and 1 daughter, is a committed Christian of the Salvation Army as well as an ardent fan of AFC Leopards.
