Kakamega Homeboyz FC gets Sh20million sponsorship deal from Mozart Bet

Kakamega Homeboyz Football Club have secured a one year sponsorship deal worth Sh20million from Mozart Bet.

The betting firm has assured the club that if they will perform better this season, they will secure another sponsorship deal next season.

“We thank God five players have recovered from the virus and they have resumed their training. Three other players are being monitored and ones they recover fully, they will join the rest of the team,”said Shimanyula.

The club that is under the Chairmanship of Cleophas Shimanyula has also received branded training kits, balls and uniforms.

Shimanyula alias Toto while unveiling there official sponsor for the season at Kakamega Golf Club on Tuesday said that already the betting firm has deposited a down payment of Sh5million into the club’s bank account.

“We shall be able to pay our players and the technical bench on time as we now have money. We are very much greatful to our players who have been very patient with the club and despite the challenges we faced, they posted tremendous results,”said Shimanyula.

The Club patron revealed that their 8 players from the first team contracted Covid19 and that was the reason they have been posting poor results of recent.

“We thank God five players have recovered from the virus and they have resumed their training. Three other players are being monitored and ones they recover fully, they will join the rest of the team,”said Shimanyula.

At the same time, the club was celebrating 10 years since its establishment and Mr. Shimanyula said that he has so far spent at least Sh83million to bring the club to where it is today.

Mozart Bet Country Manager Sasa Krneta said the betting firm is committed at promoting talent at the grass root level, the reason they chose to sponsor Kakamega Homeboyz.

“They have shown resilience and determination by posting exemplary results. We shall support them fully so that they can deliver the premier league to us,”said Mr. Kreneta.

Kakamega County Sports Minister Kassim welcomed the move by the betting firm for sponsoring the Kakamega based club and revealed that elaborate plans have been put in place to invest in sporting activities through the establishment of 60 talent academies across the county.
