Senator Malala could be seen from his house window demanding to know why they want to arrest him at that ungodly hour in a video that is making rounds on social media.

“DCI aliwaambia mkuje mnichukue saa tisa usiku. Mimi siwezi enda huko unless ni Mchana.DCI gani inafanya kazi saa nane usiku. Mnataka niende nifanye nini huko,” Malala could be heard questioning the officers who had raided his home.

Dr Chris Lang’at- Bomet Senator

The Dr Lang’at’s home in Nyayo Estate Embakasi was the first to be raided at 10pm, forcing fellow senators to come to his rescue. The officers however held their ground, and by the time of going to press, they were surrounding his house. This according to Kahawa Tungu,an online news site.

Speaking through the window of his house, Senator Langat held that he would not go anywhere till morning.

Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen yesterday alleged that the government was trying to intimidate the senators who were opposed to the passage of the finance bill currently at the senate.

Among the senators who have opposed the Commission for Revenue Allocation (CRA) formula despite their counties gaining include Mithika Linturi (Meru), Christopher Langat (Bomet), Aaron Cheruiyot (Kericho), Kipchumba Murkomen (Elgeyo Marakwet) and Cleophas Malala (Kakamega).
